In response to the launch of the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Super video cards, AMD has announced that they are introducing new promotional pricing on several of their high-end video cards to match NVIDIA's new pricing. Kicking off what AMD calls a special "promotional pricing" program this quarter, AMD is working with its retail partners to bring the Radeon RX 7900 XT's price down to $749 (or less), roughly $50 off its street price. reduce in the Fax Lists market. the beginning of the month. Better yet, AMD's board partners have already reduced prices relative to AMD's official schedule/forecasts, and we're seeing the RX 7900 XTs drop to $710 in the US , down $90 from where they were a few weeks ago. Meanwhile, AMD is also technically cutting prices on the China-only OEM Radeon RX 7900 GRE. While this isn't available for standalone purchase on North American shelves, it mostly only applies to pre-OEM builds (and the prices they charge). Finally, the fact that this is "promotional pricing" should be noted. The new price on the RX 7900 XT is not a permanent price cut, at least for the time being. This means that AMD leaves itself some official room to raise prices later if they want to. In practice though, it would be surprising to see card prices rise again - at least until we get a new peak in crypto and the like. Finally, to sweeten the pot, AMD is also extending its latest gaming bundle offer for a few more weeks. The company is offering a copy of Avatar: Pandora's Box with all Radeon RX 7000 video cards (and select Ryzen 7000 CPUs) until January 30, 2024.
